Saving Gabby's Guts!

My name is Gabby Garza, most of you know me and some of you may not. I am a 24 year old single parent of one beautiful 5 month old baby boy. Most of you who know me have kept up with my journey via Facebook and other social media resources. Since my son was born, I have been hospitalized 6 times. After 3 diagnosis of Clostridium Difficile (AKA C-Diff), 1 gall bladder surgery to remove stones and 1 Colitis diagnosis, I have been (and am writing to you from my hospital bed) admitted for a 4th diagnosis of C-Diff. After this hospitalization, I will have spent a total of 2 full months in a hospital. Although very rare, I am having a very special fecal matter transplant done to my colon in hopes of wiping out this nasty bacteria once and for all. My wishes are to be hospital free for a very long time after this so I can resume my normal life with my son. I have been unable to work and unable to function as a parent because each diagnosis has been so debilitating. The future is very uncertain for me because my diagnosis of Lupus in 2009 has kept my immune system pretty compromised and sickness comes easily to me. However, I am praying, on both knees each night so hard, that I can soon return home and to normalcy so I can become the happy and healthy, independent individual that I have always been.
Although my insurance deductible has been met, they only cover 80% of all medical expenses. The other 20% will be left to me. My gall bladder procedure alone was $15,000. Not only do I have a long road ahead of me for mental, emotional and physical recovery...but bills are starting to pile up and I've been behind for quite some time now. It is time for me to catch up. And I am asking my friends and family to help me do so. Any and all donations will be a blessing. I will continue to push forward and the fight in me will never falter. Thank you all for being such a huge contribution to that...anytime I have needed a helping hand, a word of advice, or simply just someone to talk to...I have always found it within each and every one of you.
God bless you all.
Sincerely,
The Garza Team
