Anyone who knows my dad knows how much his dog Peanut means to him. Peanut isn’t just a pet, she’s family. She’s his little shadow, his comfort on hard days, and the one thing that always manages to make him smile no matter what life throws at him.

Peanut is not even two years old yet. She should be in the prime of her puppy life, running around, playing, and bringing joy everywhere she goes. Instead, she is currently struggling with a very serious umbilical hernia that has been getting worse. What started out as something small has now become painful and concerning. The hernia has grown and is causing her a lot of discomfort, and it breaks our hearts to see such a sweet young dog in pain.

Peanut is the most loving little dog you could ever meet. She has the biggest personality in the tiniest body. She loves cuddling up beside my dad, following him from room to room, and greeting everyone with a wagging tail and so much excitement. She trusts us completely, and right now she needs our help.

The vet has made it clear that Peanut needs surgery to repair the hernia before it becomes life threatening. If left untreated, umbilical hernias can lead to serious complications where organs can become trapped, which could put Peanut’s life at risk. The surgery will relieve her pain and allow her to live the happy, healthy life she deserves.

Unfortunately, veterinary care is incredibly expensive, and the cost of the surgery and related care is more than my dad can manage on his own right now. My dad would do absolutely anything for Peanut. Seeing her in pain has been incredibly hard for him, and he feels helpless knowing she needs help that he is struggling to afford.
