My brother hit a deer on his motorcycle near Hobart, OK on August 15th of this year. He was flown to OKC, and they took excellent care of him at OU Trauma Center. Aside from the road rash and broken ribs, his most extensive injury was to his left leg. They were able to place a rod in his leg, and he began his road to recovery.
On October 6th, he went to his doctor to be released so he could return to work, but they found infections. He has been at OU Trauma Center since October 8th and has undergone multiple surgeries on his leg. They've removed the rod from his leg and have performed several procedures for the infection. They're hoping to replace the rod and do skin grafts this week. They've inserted another PICC line, and he cannot return to work for at least 6 more weeks.
Doing a GoFundMe for him is not something we do lightly. Shane has good insurance that pays most of the medical expenses. The extended time off from work has put his family in a financial situation that needs help. We've helped and will continue to help in every way we can. We're asking friends, family, and strangers for their assistance in helping my brother through what we hope and pray is a short-term setback in his recovery.
All of your thoughts and prayers are needed and very much appreciated.
