Update: please continue to keep Russell and Chris in your prayers. Russell had to file for early retirement . They are needing help with medical, bills and travel expenses to MD Anderson and trying to adjust to another blow to their income. It’s been a nightmare for them. Russell’s treatments are working!! He still has many more to go including procedures and tests as they monitor his progress and check on his abnormal blood protein and his prostate. Please consider donating, pray and share the link. Hi my name is Teresa and My dear sweet friends ,Russell and Chris Berryman are unfortunately experiencing a multitude of medical issues. They are extremely private people so opening up about these issues is difficult for them. Russell was diagnosed with 2 highly aggressive cancers in his bladder in January 2022. There is a National shortage of the drug that gives him the best chance for survival.therefore he must make frequent trips to MD Anderson in Houston from Granbury. Subsequent scans and bloodwork have prompted him to also be referred to the Endocrinology and Myeloma Cancer Center at MD Anderson for further evaluation. Russell’s bladder cancer treatment started in December 2022 and is scheduled to continue for a year as long as he responds well to the treatment He will then have maintenance visits as well as occasional out patient tests and procedures . Russell was let go from his former job in October 2022. Thankfully he just recently got another job , but at a lower income. Chris is trying to get back into the workforce after many years of dealing with her own health issues. Between loss of pay, COBRA insurances, co pays , deductibles, travel and hotel expenses, it has severely hampered them financially. They don’t qualify for any assistance @MD Anderson due to their protocol for assistance. They are a proud, overwhelmed couple that need prayers and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
