Imagine… never being able to move more than a few feet at a time.
Imagine… being attached to a heavy object 24 hours a day.
Imagine… having a cord constantly underfoot.
Sam doesn’t need to imagine these things because he is on supplemental oxygen 24 hours a day. This means that no matter where he goes, he must have an oxygen tank with him.
This also means different equipment for different situations:
At home, while he sleeps, he is hooked up to a stationary tank 4x his size and over 120 lbs. Every morning, before breakfast, a smaller tank must be filled and wheeled from room to room so he can roam “freely”, play with his toys and be independently social.
Venturing outside for more than a few hours requires much planning and organizing just to make sure Sam has enough of what he needs to be able to breathe comfortably.
Our Super Sammy is growing fast. Like every other curious toddler he has a strong urge to simply GO!!... as far as his little legs can carry him, to explore the world around him, and to be as independent as possible.
But as he grows more independent it’s not the street corner he’s learning to stop for but the end of his oxygen cord. It's not his parent’s worry for his safety that slows him down, but rather the clumsy oxygen tank he’s attached to.

Imagine…that you could run and play without a long cord to pull you back.
Sam doesn’t know yet how to imagine…all he knows is what IS...with your help we can give him the opportunity to experience what many of us take for granted; the chance to move AND breathe more freely.
This GOFUNDME is to raise $2,500 for a portable, rechargeable SIMPLY GO oxygen concentrator and one battery for Sam Rattigan.
Additional funds raised will be used to purchase additional batteries which cost $225 each.
What is the SIMPLY GO?• A POC is an oxygen concentrator that creates breathable oxygen
• Lightweight; 10 lbs with the battery inserted
• Portable and rechargeable
Why do we need it?• A continuous and reliable oxygen source is our number one priority
• Our current supplier will not provide oxygen support for our move to Florida
• Renting a POC is a financial hardship ($325 per week)
What will it do?• Allow Sammy to have a schedule that is not limited by the number of tanks that fit in a car
• Never run the risk of running out of oxygen
• Allow Sammy more independence as he grows
