Amanda’s recovery

Our rad friend, co-worker, and Silly Goose has had quite a go at life this year with her mom’s accident, 3 bouts with Covid, a debilitating appendectomy; but now she is having the fight of her life with a severe case of myocarditis that landed her in the hospital for days. Her lab work shows levels of troponin (which is a heart attack hallmark) that are the highest I’ve ever seen in all my time in medicine. The worst part of this is the root cause is a mystery, making it hard to treat. As you can imagine, Amanda’s road to recovery will be long and touch-and-go while she recovers and we find a reason all of this has happened to an otherwise healthy 30-year-old. In order for Amanda to heal and prioritize her health she will need plenty of downtime and help paying for her basic needs for a while, which means not working and making money.
