MY KIDS NEED YOUR HELP

With eviction coming and no money at hand due to a fallout, we need help for my family.

Hello, my name is Laura and I am turning to the public because I don’t know what to do. I’m a single mother with five kids, now being turned to the streets.

After making Aliyah to Israel 3½ years ago I became the primary caretaker for my mother, and then later my Father. Both with significant health demands. Both chose to live in Israel to live out their golden years. Though my Mother returned to Colorado, USA, in 2021 to be closer to additional family.

We were hopeful about a successful future here. After leaving everything I knew and leveraging programs to help assimilate myself and children, it became clear that the task would be greater than all of us combined. And the health needs of the family remained.

The family agreed for me to stay and care for our parents, and they would provide support in return. Their caretaking developed into a full-time job, and still have a family of kids to support.

A few weeks ago, the primary family member in charge of the money came to visit and realised the enormous costs of caring for a family in Israel post-COVID. This, despite the many prior communications to such. He couldn’t process how expensive it really was, and therefore insisted I was abusing the money.

I produced a detailed budget with receipts and pictures, but it was irrelevant. He decided I no longer warranted help for rent, food, medical, or a transition plan. There simply would no longer be financial help starting that day, leaving myself and my five kids out on the street without further support. He terminated the arrangement, without notice or an opportunity to segway support from another source.

We are only allowed to stay in the house for five more weeks, and then we will be kicked out with nowhere to go. We do not have the money for another apartment. More importantly, funds to get back to the States, where I have found a solution.

Thank G-d, I have been able to secure a great position back in the USA and now need funds to

1) help with immediate and closing expenses in Israel, and

2) moving back to The States where I can ultimately provide for my family.

Please would you help me and my five kids get back to the States and back on our feet?
