Corey’s Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On the 29th June while camping with friends, Corey had an accident on his dirt bike.
His injury list:
⁃ Compound fractured arm and dislocated wrist
⁃ Multiple broken ribs
⁃ Punctured both lungs
⁃ Severe break to the T3/T4 vertebrae in his back
⁃ Damaged spinal cord, resulting in no feeling below his sternum.
After 12 hours of surgery to stabilise his injuries, Corey now faces the reality of life as a paraplegic.
Due to the severity of Corey’s injuries, he will be in hospital for some time, as he learns how to live life in a wheelchair.
He will not be able to come home until we have chair lifts installed for our staircases, a full bathroom modification, widened doors, and suitable transport. These are the just the things we need to get him home… then there’s the extensive physical rehab and medical bills.
While we remain positive, the reality for us is that we have huge mounting expenses while Corey is in hospital and beyond. This is an incredibly heartbreaking time for us as a family, learning to juggle time between Corey and Kobe and navigating family life in a wheelchair.
This is very hard for us to ask… but we could really use some financial assistance.
Every single dollar will go directly to Corey’s rehabilitation and assist with getting the house ready to return home.
Any donation or sharing of this is so so appreciated and we are so so incredibly thankful for everyone’s support.
