South Obenchain Fire Relief for Johnny Palfreyman

Johnny Palfreyman (JP), and his son Patrick, just barely escaped with their lives on 9/10 trying to save their ranch. JP has been one of my best friends for nearly 50 years; I call him my "brother from another mother". They had to drive through 40 foot flames to safety. I spoke with JP this morning as he was being released from the hospital. He was treated for burns to the left side of his face and body.
JP's father, John Palfreyman Sr., who was a legendary sidecar motocross racing champion, had built the Eagle Ranch from the ground up in the mid-1980's. Johnny took after his dad at a young age and was a champion in his own right. He became a legend in the sport of BMX racing, and was one of the pioneers of BMX & BMX sidehack racing. JP went on to become one of the top Sidecar Motocross racers in the US, competing against the world's best in Europe; he was also one of the founding members of the infamous Dog Town Skateboarders' from Santa Monica & Venice.
The home housed an irreplaceable treasure trove of photos, slides, newspaper stories, trophies and memorabilia from both his and his father's amazing careers of decades of racing. JP's father had built two large work and storage garages that housed a number of cars and motorcycles that also perished in the fire.
I'm happy to report that JP's younger brother, Peter, was able to escape unharmed through the back road, and his brother, Victor and his family are also unharmed.
I humbly ask anyone who knows and loves JP, Brianna and Patrick to help them in their time of need with whatever you can. Any amount will help them through this tragedy. They now find themselves homeless from this event.
