Help Sandy Fight Cancer and Pay her Medical Bills!

My name is Amy, and I met Sandy in 2019 when I was working for Guide Dogs of Texas. When I think of Sandy the word heroine is top of mind. A heroine is defined as "a woman admired or idealized for her courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities" and that definition fits Sandy to a T.

Sandy has given the past two decades of her life serving the blind and visually impaired community in Texas through her work at Guide Dogs of Texas (GDTX). She endured countless obstacles, and her most recent battle with breast cancer couldn't even stop her from continuing to meet the mission of GDTX, which she is so passionate about.

Sandy stepped down as CEO due to health issues last year but still continued to work at GDTX in a different capacity despite the debilitating effects of her cancer. Sadly, her replacement did not share the same values and passion Sandy had for the mission of GDTX and has displayed appalling and unspeakable behavior during the past 10 months that has affected Sandy and her husband directly.

Sandy is currently without a job or access to the treatment she desperately needs and is unsure how she will continue making payments for her COBRA insurance. While Sandy would never ask for donations for herself, I have started this fund to help ease some of the stress and worry she and her husband are currently facing.
