Richard Zimmerman
Donation protected
Richard (aka Dick Zimmerman) has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, specifically, metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma. It is advanced stage and has metastasized to his lungs and lymph nodes. He's moved into hospice care at his home in Ocean City through Coastal Hospice. He's in good spirits and remains strong in his faith.
Richard's six children live in various parts of California and Maryland -- Kristin - San Francisco, CA, Lauren - San Diego, Rich - Laguna Niguel, CA, Seanna - Rockville, MD, Erin - Baltimore, MD, Bryan - Ocean City, MD. He has 6 grandchildren all 4 and under! He and his wife, Stephanie, have been married for 41 years and reside in Ocean City.
Prior to his diagnosis, Richard was an active parishioner at St. Mary's Star of the Sea/Holy Savior parish and was a cantor at mass before he returned to working full time. He has been a Black Jack dealer at Ocean Downs Casino for the last two years (funny that he returned to his roots in the casino industry after decades of selling slot machines) and even drove for Uber in his spare time.
Many of our friends and family have asked how they can help and after a long discussion, we decided that this would be the best help you could offer. Donations will be used for medical bills and incidentals that occur during his care as well as assisting with maintaining the home, and caring for Stephanie, who is unable to drive after her stroke.
