Ziggys spinal surgery

Ziggy has been diagnosed with a rare condition called ‘occult tethered cord syndrome’.

His spinal cord is becoming stuck to the vertebra and areas around his spine.

This is an excruciating condition and isn’t that well documented.

if Ziggy doesn’t have surgery he will most likely lose control of his back legs and become incontinent in both bladder and bowel.

the surgery will involve the spinal cord being freed from where it has stuck down then a titanium plate fixed to the spine which will fuse the spine and prevent any further sticking of the spinal cord.

We have good insurance for Ziggy (£10k a year ) which covers him for his existing issues but won’t be enough to cover this major surgery.

We face many trips up and down to his specialist for the surgery and follow ups. The cost of which will be covered by ourselves.
