Help Jessie get home- UPDATE BELOW

Jessie is one of the kindest, most patient, loving, responsible people I have had the opportunity to get to know! She has helped take care of so many children in Hoboken, and now I hope we can take care of her.
Jessie waited patiently for many years to legally reside in the US. She has been married for over a decade to a US citizen and her son was born in New York. She has been working with & paying an immigration attorney for years to obtain her green card and finally received a call in November that it was her time to be interviewed. With less than a week to plan, she jumped on a flight to Barbados with lots of hope.
Jessie is from a small island, so she was sent to Barbados for the official interview. Jessie doesn’t have family in Barbados so she had no choice but to pay to stay in an Airbnb. She was hoping the process would take about a week, but anticipated it could take up to 3 weeks. Unfortunately that was 10 weeks ago, & she has been stuck in Barbados paying daily rent ever since.
She has asked her attorney if she can wait out the process on the Island she is from, so she can stay with family, but due to the crazy Covid world we live in, it was not advised. The fear is if they finally reschedule her interview appointment, she could be stuck in another island, and miss her interview. So, she continues to wait alone in Barbados while paying rent there as well as the rent in Brooklyn.
If you have ever met Jessie, you know what a kind thoughtful person she is. I hope you can find it in your heart to contribute in anyway you’re comfortable.
