Hello everyone, my name is Vanessa and I am reaching out for support to this beautiful family.

As my dear best friend Yolanda and her beautiful daughter Ryver face the scariest time of their lives, I am asking for our community to come together and help assist with the financial burden this family will face. December 31st 2025 Yolanda and Ryvers life turned upside down. Instead of celebrating new years like everyone else, it was the day Yolanda’s families life changed forever. Ryver was in and out of Owen Sound Hospital experiencing crippling headaches that were unmanageable for a four year old girl. After being admitted to the local hospital for observation, many tests were done including an MRI which showed Ryver’s Brain swollen and filled with fluid. Ryver was transferred quickly to Victoria Children’s Hospital in London for emergency surgery and treatment. Once arriving in London an emergency back up plan was in place, considering it was a back up plan it was done almost immediately as Ryver started declining quickly. They inserted an EVD, which has been draining fluid from her brain since arriving in London. Ryver remained in the ICU where she was closely monitored and intubated. Ryver received another four hour surgery the following day where they did a craniotomy and removed a piece of her skull, which will remain out for the rest of her life. We have now received information that Ryver has been diagnosed with Cerebellitis, this has been caused by an infection in her body or possibly a stroke. Ryver, Yolanda and her family are facing a lengthy time in London, where Ryver will still overcome many more tests, procedures, recovery time, occupational therapy and physiotherapy. When taking care of an unwell child, the bills unfortunately do not stop. Please send your prayers, positive vibes and love to this beautiful family as they face a very difficult time.
