Meet Rylie, our adorable, spunky, playful, and full of life lab puppy who is as sweet as can be. She is 7 weeks old and at 4 weeks when she was introduced to solid food for the first time, we had a devastating discovering that she wasn't able to swallow food. With the fear of aspiration, Rylie was rushed to the veterinary hospital. After some tests and x-rays, we were told that she may have Persistent Right Aortic Arch, which is a congenital anomaly of the blood vessels of the heart that result in constriction of the esophagus, meaning the bigger she gets, the tighter her esophagus will also get and she would eventually starve to death. We were given a couple options, to put her down or to have the surgery, which is a minimum of $5,000. We want to give her a chance at life and nearly 90% of dogs that receive this surgery thrive after and have barely any complications.
