- Hi, my name is Emily and I am Ryley's sister. Two years ago we became aware of Ryley's heart conditions called Wolfe Parkinson White and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. More recently we have also learned of a gene mutation called prkag2. This is a very rare mutation with only 100-200 cases in the world. Ryley has had 4 cath procedures to help correct his extra pathways, however the walls of his heart are becoming too thick. In just two years his heart has tripled in size. Unfortunately, this means that Ryley can no longer survive with his heart. In July of 2021, Ryley had an ICD implanted as a temporary safety net while he is evaluated for a heart transplant.
These funds will help alleviate the expenses related with travelling to Nationwide in Columbus often, co-insurance, deductibles, and lost wages due to his inpatient stays. Once Ryley has the transplant, he will be in the hospital for about a month to recover.
We thank you so much for your support during this difficult journey. Please join
