My name is Misha. I am the mother of Ryleigh Nova. At 20 weeks, my water broke and I went into pre-term labor. At 24 weeks, Ryleigh made her grand entrance. Due to having little to no amniotic fluid for 4 weeks, her lungs were really sick. Being diagnosed with severe bronchopulmonary dysplasia and tracheomalacia, all treatment failed and she ultimately needed to have a tracheostomy. With her tracheomalacia, our journey has been a little more difficult to navigate. Ryleigh suffered from 3 cardiac arrests this year, the last one being June 5. We have spent over 365 days from NICU to PICU, now ITU. Ryleigh will be home 10/02/2025. I know it seems late, but I just wanted to make sure everything was set and I was done with all my training. BUT I'M SUPER EXCITED FOR THIS NEXT CHAPTER IN OUR LIVES. To my village, thank you for your support throughout this 17-month-long journey. I never ask for anything, just for people to come show my baby some love, and my family did just that. Now that we are close to home, I do work and will be taking time off just to help get settled in. But as a single mother, I anticipate I will need a little help due to me not working, so I started a GoFundMe. Not asking for help is super hard for me, but it's no longer about me.
