Caroline's Corner

On September 18th, my 32-year-old sister was viciously attacked by a dog. She will require multiple reconstructions to regain function in her face. We are pleading with our friends and family to provide financial support during this time to assist with covering rent, medical expenses and possible in-home care.

As you may know, Caroline lost her vision in 2016 and is now visually impaired. However, that didn't stop Caroline; she received a master's certificate to teach blind children and got a job in the state of Illinois in August of 2022 to teach visually impaired and special education children and adults. She had one month of teaching under her belt before the attack. Unfortunately, the school district did not offer short or long-term disability, and Caroline had not had a chance to finalize her supplemental insurance plan.

Caroline has been tested more than most. Yet, I hope that with the support of her friends, family, and community that she feels that even after multiple tragedies, she still has and deserves a safe corner in this world.
