Ryan and Andrea have been on this journey alongside all of you loving and amazing family members, friends, and people across the US. We are believing in our Faithful and Powerful Heavenly Father to continue to strengthen Sadie and Ryder. As you know, they have been absolute miracles from the beginning as Andrea was not physically able to become pregnant naturally and the doctors had warned her of the danger for her to carry any more babies. Many of you know Andrea delivered another set of twins in 2012 who died five days later. This has been a heavy memory for Andrea to navigate through while holding onto hope for sweet Sadie and Ryder.
God has plans for these precious little sweeties and for the Blindt family as a whole. They were born on Oct 24, 2016 at 31 weeks and have been strong warriors fighting an uphill battle since.
They left the NICU after 106 days. While there they weren't maintaining a healthy Red Blood Cell count and required multiple blood transfusions. They are undergoing lengthy testing to find out the cause and have weekly visits to the lab to make sure their blood is at a safe level. Please continue to be in prayer for the family and specifically for their Anemia and their continued progress in feeding. The anemia causes great fatigue and makes it difficult to have energy to finish a feed. Both Sadie and Ryder have feeding therapy twice a week. In January they both had surgery to place feeding tubes in their stomachs to help provide nutrition that way. Sadie cannot eat anything by mouth while Ryder tries daily to nurse and then uses his stomach tube for the rest of his nutrition. Aside from feeding therapy Sadie and Ryder have 3-5 other Dr visits a week. Andrea and Ryan pay $900 a month for private health coverage, they also spend $160 a week on Dr visit copays. Please pray specifically for strength for Andrea and Ryan. The hospital is a 25 mile round trip drive that they're making every day and they feel a tremendous sadness to be leaving Micaela and Ethan at home while they go to the Hospital to care for Sadie and Ryder. Ryan is not able to devote the time required for his business, as he is so completely devoted to caring for the twins, Andrea, Micaela and Ethan. They have incurred a huge amount of financial burden while they fight this journey to maintaining the health of Sadie and Ryder. Yesterday they got another devastating blow when their insurance told them they would no longer cover the cost of feeding supplies for Sadie and Ryder. They said it "wasn't deemed medically necessary". How feeding supplies aren't necessary for children who eat primarily through a feeding tube is beside us. They are appealing their insurance but that will take months. Medical bills continue to arrive daily and this family is taking life one day at a time and managing to survive with a grace and hope that Inspires others. I know they are continually expressing their gratitude for everyone's prayers, love, support, and help with childcare, but I also know they are in great need of any financial help that you feel led to donate. Even $20 would help with their gas to get to the hospital. I know they would never ask for financial help, but would be so over-joyed for your generosity. Thank you in advance for (most importantly) your prayers and continued faith in our Awesome God and for any donations.
