Dear Family and Friends,
Many of you know that I have had a difficult time with a medical issue these past 10 months. So much so that I have not been able to manage stairs very well and now use a cane or walker to get around. I will eventually need surgery on both hips but was advised that I need to lose weight before it can be done. As of today I am down 20 lbs. I am extremely motivated and have committed myself to this weight loss.
This health situation has severely diminished not only our income but also our savings. The holidays were pretty rough with Oliver also being temporarily out of work but we had each other and our faith in God to get us through.
My favorite bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding . In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
We have been faithful and know that God is working things out on our behalf. For instance, though I have not been actively working I just got a referral which resulted in a new listing. Hallelujah!
All that being said we are facing eviction right now from our apartment. We missed December and January's rent and were given an end of the month deadline from the landlord. Now it's February and we just need to get ahead of this eviction.
I have applied for assistance but it is not enough to cover expenses and additional funds are pending the quality process completion. We thought it would have been done by now. I decided that I must work even with my disability and thank goodness Oliver went back to work last week after 3 months.
Our landlord has been great but he wants his money. We have exhausted everything and are being lead to ask our family and friends for help. If there is anything you can send to help us we would greatly appreciate it and no amount is too small.
