As one of the only liberal churches in a conservative town, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Evansville is a welcoming congregation. The term "welcoming congregation" in the UU church means more than simply greeting people at the door and being friendly. Being a welcoming UU church involves fighting discrimination against LGBT people, striving for inclusion, and creating welcoming spaces, including gender-neutral bathrooms.

Not only are the bathrooms in our small church NOT gender-neutral, they are also NOT handicapped accessible.  As one of the very few churches in the area that is welcoming to all genders and sexual orientations, and since we welcome diversity in all aspects, we desperately feel the need to correct this problem.  Unfortunately, we do not have the $7,000 to remodel our bathrooms.  With your help, we can correct this problem and become even more welcoming than we already are.
