Hi my name is Hannah, I am raising money to help my partner Max who is 25 years of age pay for his private medical treatments. It’s not easy for us to ask but Max now finds himself in a situation where he really needs some help.

Before Max’s life drastically turned upside down he was a very active person who loved is sports and fitness and was about to start his final year of university studying sports science. He was always a happy, young boy with his whole life ahead of him.

Sadly Max’s health took a drastic turn for the worst in the summer of 2021 when he had a severe reaction to taking his first vaccine. Since then Max has become massively debilitated and has seen many specialists in his search for answers and treatment.

In his search for help Max travelled down to London to see a private cardiologist who carried out a number of tests that led him to being diagnosed with a chronic condition called POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome).

POTS is a complex neurological condition caused by a dysfunction in the autonomic nervous system. This results in the body been unable to regulate enough oxygenated blood to the brain when in upright positions. This has left Max with debilitating neurological and cardiovascular symptoms which has had a significant effect on the quality of his life. As a result he is unable to work and finds day to day tasks such as showering, cooking and even standing extremely difficult.

We have done extensive research into treating this condition and have identified a cardiologist in York who specialises in the treatment and management of POTS who only accepts self funding patients. Along with this, he will also be trialing hyperbaric oxygen therapy which has shown great results in improving this condition. This is a therapy that Max has been desperate to try for sometime.

Max also aims to continue working with a functional medicine doctor who has had great results with treating other POTS patients as well as a chiropractor that specialises in neurological conditions. Along with these therapies we have spoken to other people suffering from the same condition who have received treatment from a private doctor who specialises in infectious diseases and has had success in treating patients who developed POTS after receiving their vaccine.

Max has been left with a whole range of debilitating neurological and cardiovascular symptoms which include: extreme dizziness, presyncope, heart palpitations, orthostatic hypertension, chest pain, breathing difficulties, brain fog, derealisation, slurred speech, memory issues, blurred vision, lowered immunity, light sensitivity and many more symptoms.

He is very determined to get his health better so he can be happy again and get back some of the life that he once had.

His friends have also organised a 5 hour football fundraiser on Sunday 27th august where they will be playing to support Max reach this target.

Any donations made will help make it possible for Max to undertake these treatments, with the hope of him getting some quality of life back. We will also provide updates on his treatments/ therapies to inspire others who are going through the same experience to keep fighting❤️
