Roof repair

Hi everyone. This is my sweet friend Jessica with her daughter, and husband Victor. I worked with Jessica a few years ago before we each took our nursing careers down different paths. I can honestly say she is one of the most caring and patient nurses I have ever had the pleasure of working with....always positive, smiling and laughing despite how tough the day's work was. March 2018, Jessica and Victor decided to purchase a home. In April, her Dad, the first man to ever love her, passed away and in June, her beautiful mother was diagnosed with cancer. It was during this time of heartwrenching emotions, the first of many heavy rains came through the area and they discovered water dripping from the ceiling/wall inside the back room of their home. This drip turn into water pouring in at a steady rate with each and every day of rain that followed. Unfortunately, it was discovered that there was a hole that had been filled with a rag, covered up with crown molding and a fresh coat of paint. Without being able to prove who did this, Jessica and Victor were forced to reach out to their insurance company to make a claim. The insurance company denied the claim stating that this was not a direct result from the storms and secondary to the poor workmanship to the roof that passed inspection prior to them purchasing their home. This left them with paying the expense of the repair out of pocket. Victor fixed the hole from the inside of the house but unfortunately the sheet metal that covered the outside of the roof was rusted (unbeknownst to him and Jessica, because it had been recently painted), thus allowing the water to reintrude the room again and again. While working through getting it properly fixed, they discovered that since the sheet metal that covered their roof had been rusted for so long and was simply painted over and not replaced, it allowed FAR more damage to the entire roof over the rear room than they anticipated. Which means ALOT more money out of pocket.
With that being said, Jessica and Victor have their second child arriving in May 2019. I can't even imagine the stress that they are feeling with this unexpected MAJOR roof repair. And when I look back at 2018 for them, I can't help but wonder how Jessica continued to smile and be the ray of positivity that she has always been. That's just who she is. She would be the one to help anyone who needed it, even if she needed it more. And yet through ALL OF THIS, I STILL see her smiling. Now she needs it. And I want to ask all of my family and friends, and the friends of my family and friends to please consider helping Jessica and Victor in any way you can. If everyone just gave a little something, it would be an enormous help for them and it would mean so much. Thank you <3
