Ryan William Lees, United States Marine Corps Veteran Sergeant with the 1st CEB, was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident on Mother's Day, May 10th, 2015 in San Clemente, California. Ryan was pronounced brain dead on May 12, 2015 but has remained on life support at Mission Viejo Hospital in Southern California for the purposes of organ donation. Lynne, his incredibly strong and brave wife, and Ryan's extradordinarly supportive and loving parents, Terri and Dave Lees, have remained at Ryan's side until May 15th when the organ donation team prepared and took Ryan for organ donation. Many miracles out of a tragedy.
For those who do not know Ryan, he lived life with endless adrenaline and energy, an unquenchable desire for adventure and new experiences, an open heart and a caring hand to his friends and family, and one too many optimistically creative car/motorcycle/house projects. He had been overseas to Iraq and Afghanistan, either serving with the Marine Corps or contracting with the private company, Lockheed Martin, from the time he joined the Marine Corps in 2006 until he returned home permanently in October 2014. Most recently, Ryan was in Afghanistan for two years from September 2012 until October 2014.
Sadly, as he was in transition from working with Lockheed Martin and a new company, Ryan did not have health insurance. His medical insurance for his new job would have started at the end of this month (May 2015).
Please consider donating to the family, as all donations will go towards the mounting medical bills.
Ryan was a devoted and faithful husband, son, grandson, nephew, cousin, Marine, and best friend who would offer a helping hand to those in need. Any amount is helpful. From the depths of our grieving hearts, thank you very much.
