COVID-19 Mental Health Relief
OUR STORY
For 18 years Jewel’s Inspiring Children Foundation and Never Broken program has been empowering children struggling with financial hardship, anxiety, depression and suicidal ideation by giving them the ultimate environment to survive then thrive at the highest levels. With teenage suicide up 70%, anxiety and depression doubling, we have been at the forefront of solving this epidemic. The program arms at risk youth with everything they need to be physically, emotionally and mentally healthy in a fun and inspirational way, online and in person. This ecosystem of excellence includes; emotional intelligence, SEL, mindfulness/meditation, group counseling and mentoring, leadership development, entrepreneur skills, nutrition, yoga, tennis, sleep science, and academics. 80% of operations are run by the children. Children gain know-how, an understanding of themselves, and confidence by earning their way in our real life “project driven learning” program. Our young leaders have been so academically, athletically and personally developed that 95% have been offered scholarships and admissions into the best colleges in the world including: Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Georgetown, Penn-Wharton, Brown, Dartmouth, Williams, Columbia, Naval Academy, USC, Vanderbilt and 100 more. Most importantly these children are being armed with a “psychology for life” that helps them to generate their own peace of mind and contentment as self-actualized leaders. COVID-19 TOOLS & RESOURCES
During this period of quarantine, we took action. We knew we had the solutions to the silent symptoms of COVID-19; anxiety, fear, isolation, and depression as we have been solving for those same issues for the past 18 years. Our youth came together to create the following online resources to make mental health tools available to the masses for free.
INSPIRE HOUSE LIVE STREAM COMMUNITY:
GRAMMY nominated singer-songwriter and long-time mental health advocate Jewel is tackling the silent symptoms of COVID-19 pandemic - anxiety, depression and isolation - by providing free online mental health tools to help build community and connection. The youth in her Foundation, from quarantine, did their part to help other young people and adults by creating an online community that mirrors the one they typically get in person. Twitch.tv/INSPIREHOUSE offers music, daily yoga, meditation, fitness, leadership talks and meaningful conversations.

With over 1 million views on the INSPIRE HOUSE Twitch channel within the first month of launching, it is clear to see that people across the world want to feel a sense of connection, community and to be part of something meaningful. INSPIRE HOUSE offers daily fitness classes, yoga and meditation as well as positive and uplifting group discussions, check-ins and meaningful conversations. On each of our live streams, we interact and engage with our followers and provide them with tools, wisdom and knowledge to help them in their lives.
MENTAL HEALTH & MUSIC:
Every Thursday on INSPIRE HOUSE, Grammy nominated singer Jewel hosts her weekly "Live From San Quarantine" music and mental health show where she interviews leading mental health experts, parenting experts, celebrities, musicians, actors and authors with the focus on opening up the conversation of mental health. Previous guests include actor Brad Paisley, singer Frankie Grande, Harvard Psychiatrist Dr. Blaise Aguirre, the Tone It Up girls Katrina Scott and Karena Dawn, addiction specialist Dr. Judson Brewer, actors Misha Collins, Jensen Ackles and many more.

INSPIRE WEEKLY NEWSLETTER:
With that, we also created INSPIRE WEEKLY which is our weekly newsletter that offers the most inspirational, uplifting and educational content anyone could ask for. INSPIRE WEEKLY offers a wide range of insightful articles, meditations, mindfulness exercises, funny videos, challenges and a wide variety of resources to help people stay inspired and connected.

MENTAL HEALTH TOOLS & CURRICULUM
We also have continued our already existing work via the JewelNeverBroken.com website that the youth helped create to bring the mental health tools & curriculum they learn daily through Jewel's program to the masses online for free.

THE NEED
When talking about mental health in the context of present day COVID-19, consider the following - according to CDC, teen suicide has increased 70% since 2006, and anxiety and depression have nearly doubled during the same time. Since the COVID-19 pandemic we have seen a dramatic increase in anxiety, depression and suicidal ideations within the families we serve and in our community. There has been a 300% increase in calls to the suicide hotline, and a 23% increase in 911 calls about suicide attempts, and 100% increases in google searches for anxiety attacks.
COVID-19 and the quarantine have brought significant challenges to individuals, families, businesses and non-profits. Our Foundation had to cancel all of our fundraisers, losing 80% of our annual funds. The majority of our children’s parents lost their jobs as Vegas has been completely shut down. We have never needed support more than now... Our tools and resources have never been needed more than now.
Our mission at is to be a force for good and to inspire as many people as possible. We have seen firsthand the impact of how the programs we offer have literally transformed people's lives and have taken a human life from SURVIVE to THRIVE. By continuing to build out our INSPIRE HOUSE Twitch Channel, JEWELNEVERBROKEN.com website, our INSPIRE WEEKLY newsletter, and our organization as a whole we know we will continue to have a huge impact on people across the world who are struggling with their mental health or may just want to take their life to the next level.
