Hi my name is Siobhan Stringer.

Sadly, on 20th April 2026 I lost my Husband and our babies lost their Daddy Ryan at just 35 years old.

Ryan was diagnosed with a rare cancer in November 2024, he received treatment and like the hero he always was battled it with everything he had. Unfortunately, the last dose of chemotherapy destroyed his immune system and caused sepsis with multi-organ failure, which ultimately ended his life.

When Ryan was first diagnosed, he wanted to start his own charity for younger people, especially with families to help make the journey of a terminal illness brighter. Later on in his journey Ryan wanted to help the people that helped us!

From this fundraiser, whatever funds are raised will be equally split between Edgar's Gift, Heartlink and Adult Intensive Care - Glenfield Hospital.

Edgar's Gift - is a charity that operates in the East Midlands of England in the UK that provides gifts and experiences to young adults suffering with cancer in our area.

They sent us, as a family, for two holidays to their caravan in Haven - Mablethorpe. These holidays provided us with a break away from the stresses of our new everyday life and gave our babies memories of their Daddy that will last a lifetime.

Heartlink - is a charity that works alongside the East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre (where I work). Was founded in 1981 as a support organisation for parents and families who had a child with a heart condition. They have also been more committed over time to enhancing facilities for young patients and their families, as well as giving much-needed quality medical equipment. They also have 2 caravans in Butlins Skegness which they provide at a heavily discounted price to all patients, families and staff also including entertainment passes for all guests. They sent us on a holiday in 2025 which was amazing, we all had the best time and made lots of memories.

Adult Intensive Care (Glenfield) - All of the staff on this unit were absolutely incredible on Ryan's last day here. He was only there for a day but we were all cared for like members of their own families. From the bereavement box they provided for the children including hand prints, ecgs, teddies, etc to the unbelievably hard work they put in to getting Ryan to be able to say bye to everyone who meant the most to him. They really are angels and deserve more than we can give!
