Ryan's Van Totaled: Support His Vital Work
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
For the last four years, I have embarked on an incredible journey across the United States, dedicating my life to a photography book that seeks to answer the profound question: "What is an American?" Through my lens, I have aimed to illuminate the beauty, resilience, and diversity of our communities, fostering understanding and connection among us all.
However, my journey took an unexpected and devastating turn when I hit a deer while on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, resulting in my van being totaled. This van has been more than just a vehicle; it has been my home and my faithful companion, Freedom, and I now find ourselves without shelter or transportation. The future of my project, which I have poured my heart and soul into, hangs in the balance.
As an independent photographer and photojournalist, I have relied entirely on the support of wonderful people like you through Patreon, print sales, and gallery exhibitions. While I take immense pride in self-funding this project, emergencies like this are incredibly challenging.
I am reaching out to ask for your help to continue this vital work. I am seeking to raise between $5,000 and $10,000 to secure a new van, which will allow me to safely travel and document the diverse stories that weave the fabric of our nation.
Every single contribution, no matter the amount, will profoundly impact my ability to complete this project and share these essential narratives. Your support will not only help me rebuild but also contribute to a message of unity and understanding across America.
If you would like to purchase a photographic print to support my work, a link to my shop is provided below.
Thank you for considering my cause and for your generosity. Together, we can keep this journey alive!
With heartfelt gratitude,
