Ryan's Unexpected FFS (Facial Feminization Surgery) Expenses

Hi! My name is Ryan and I am a non-binary trans femme person, seeking funds to pay for unexpected costs associated with FFS (Facial Feminization Surgery) I am getting in November 2024.

I have been saving all year and am already paying for the surgery itself entirely out-of-pocket, due to the fact that my state's insurance considers FFS cosmetic, and not medically necessary (like it is in other states). Just when I thought I was in the clear, I realized I had overlooked expenses like travel and lodging, and was recently provided estimates for additional costs I was not anticipating:

Flights and hotels need to be booked ASAP, and most of these fees, including my surgery cost, have to be paid for by October 25, 2024, two weeks before my surgery, or else they CANCEL MY SURGERY.

While I am saving every penny I earn from work, establishing credit to try to take out loans, setting up a CD in the bank (and even considering OnlyFans), I am setting up this GoFundMe in case you’d like to support me on this journey and make these goals a little easier for me to achieve.

For those who may not know, Facial Feminization Surgery is a series of cosmetic procedures that many trans women opt for to help feminize their potentially more masculine facial features that they may have as a result of undergoing the effects of testosterone through male puberty.

In my case, FFS will include the following procedures at a gender-affirming surgery clinic in San Francisco:

- Two-point facial contouring (jaw, chin)

- Rhinoplasty

It will be an 8-hour procedure and afterwards, I will be required to stay in the city for 11 days, in case anything goes wrong, and in order to attend my post-op check-in.

My facial dysphoria is arguably the primary cause of my gender dysphoria. Getting these surgeries will vastly improve my mental health, and I will finally feel comfortable navigating this world, no longer being immediately clocked as male or trans before I even speak.

Getting FFS would forever change my life for the better and finally allow me to live as my authentic self. I would be eternally grateful for your support, whether that be donating or sharing, anything at all is so greatly appreciated.
