Hi everyone, I really didn’t want to do a GoFundMe, but others convinced me to do so. As some of you know, my son, Ryan DeLozier was injured after falling backwards from his friend’s 6ft. porch railing and air-lifted to Sutter Roseville Trauma ICU unit. He mainly fractured his T1 vertebrae and has a very significant spinal cord contusion. Fortunately, his spinal cord injury is “incomplete”, meaning it was not severed, however, there is significant swelling and the nerves are confused and can’t function. He has lost the ability to use his arms, hands, and most of the feeling in his torso. This is unfortunately, also affecting his bladder and bowels. His legs are also having difficulty with feeling and function. We are currently awaiting a transfer to an inpatient Acute Intensive Rehabilitation center. As many of you know, he is an Air Force veteran, so his approval to transfer must go through the V.A., which is a slow process. He has a hospital social worker who is assisting him/us with this process, but it’s definitely a lengthy process.
We are hoping and praying for a full recovery, but his healing will take lots and lots of time and physical therapy.
He was recently working at AutoZone, but he had just gave his notice to leave and was ready to start a brand new job with his brother the following Tuesday. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
Sadly, the bills will pile up. I have already applied for SDI disability for him, but that takes time too. Right now, he doesn’t need to stress on bills, when he is stressing on being able to heal.
Ryan has the biggest, kindest heart, and he has always been there for anyone who needs a helping hand. He is an amazing son, and wonderful friend. Please, if you could find it in your hearts to return the love, no matter how small, it would really help him out. Thank you all who have reached out with your kind words and prayers. He is loved by so many! ❤️
