Greetings all,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend Ryan Bartoloni.

Ryan lived life with genuine interest, joy, and authenticity. Whether he was skateboarding down the street, playing guitar and singing his favorite songs, carving through fresh mountain snow on his snowboard, or simply hanging out with friends, he brought light and laughter to every moment. He found peace in both the ocean and the mountains, and he had a gift for reminding all of us to live fully and love deeply.

As we grieve this unimaginable loss, we are also faced with the unexpected costs of laying him to rest. We are asking for support to help cover funeral and memorial expenses so that we may honor Ryan in the way he deserves. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward these costs and will mean the world to his family and friends.

If you’re not able to give financially, sharing this page and keeping Ryan’s loved ones in your thoughts and prayers is just as meaningful.

Thank you for helping us celebrate his life, his spirit, and the love he gave so freely. He will be forever missed, but always remembered.

On December 5th at 9:55 p.m., I moved into an apartment at Jay Peak and met Ryan for the very first time. His greeting was unforgettable—ecstatic, warm, and full of life. I couldn’t have imagined a better welcome from someone I had never met before.

Not long after, in February, we both found ourselves sidelined by injuries that kept us off the slopes. What could have been a dull season instead turned into a series of silly, unforgettable adventures—concerts, late nights at bars, off-roading, camping in the snow, even hosting the Super Bowl together.

When my time in Vermont ended, Ryan came with me to Grantsville, Maryland, where we continued building our story. Through it all, we grew incredibly close. I will forever be thankful for the laughter, the adventures, and the friendship we shared.

I am so grateful I got to be a part of Ryan’s life, even if our time together was far too short.

I got the opportunity to meet and befriend the one and only Ryan Bartoloni this past winter at Jay Peak. I’ve never been a good wordsmith, I wish I was though so I could’ve written a song to sing while Ryan played his guitar, but alas, I’m terrible at writing. I’m sitting here wondering how I could ever even put into words how wonderful, humorous, caring, non-judgmental, sincere, enthusiastic, etc etc (the list could go on and on) Ryan was and simply I can’t. There could never be enough words to fully appreciate all that Ryan was, and all that he did for everyone he met along his journey so I’ll just say this, the loss is unimaginable but so is the love that he put into the world. I’m so very glad that I got to live a life with Ryan in it, even if it wasn’t for long.
