PLEASE HELP US GIVE RYAN A CHANCE ❤️
We’re organizing a community fundraiser for a local father battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Help us, help Ryan receive a life-saving treatment...
Ryan is a devoted father to our two girls, a loving husband, and someone who has worked his entire life to support his family. Last year, after months of back pain and testing, we received devastating news, Ryan was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers, and we were told surgery was not an option.
But Ryan refused to give up.
Over the past year, he has completed 21 rounds of chemotherapy and participated in an immunotherapy clinical trial at KU Cancer Center.
Through it all, he has kept working and showing up for our girls.
Recently, we found new hope at Vanderbilt University in Nashville through an incredible treatment called Histotripsy.
Histotripsy is a non-invasive procedure that uses focused sound waves to destroy liver tumors with a 95% success rate. If it works, Ryan could become eligible for surgery to remove the main tumor.
But there’s a heartbreaking obstacle.
Our insurance company has denied coverage 3 times because the procedure is still considered “new,” even though it was FDA-approved in 2023. We'll continue to fight this with another appeal, but Ryan needs this treatment now.
The treatment costs $55,000, plus travel and medical expenses. Raising funds would allow the following:
- $10,000 – Travel + initial deposits
- $65,000 – Treatment secured
- $75,000 – Treatment + recovery + travel
So we are asking for help.
In addition to collecting donations, on May 2nd, our community is hosting a Poker Tournament & Purse Bingo Fundraiser in Blue Springs to help Ryan get this life-saving treatment. FACBOOK PAGE | FACEBOOK EVENT
