Update: Ryan is out of the ICU and getting better every day but we are still far from out of the woods

He’s currently in long term acute care for his wounds and is still fighting an infection in his leg. Once he heals the goal will be to get into acute care where he can continue learning to navigate a wheelchair and eventually learn to walk with his new prosthetics.

Anything helps as we continue to navigate this challenging time together.

Background: Ryan went to the emergency room on July 30th having trouble walking. They discovered a massive blood clot in his heart and went into emergency surgery to save his life. The clot spread to his legs and vitals leading to double amputations and infections. He was in the icu for almost a month, fearing for his life several times during this period. Luckily we have moved on, out of the icu, but have a long road ahead.
