Support Ryan's Fight for Recovery

Donation protected
Hi everyone, this is Sarah and Jennifer. Our lifelong best friend Kristy's husband, Ryan, was recently involved in a serious car accident on May 12th. He is currently still in the ICU with a traumatic brain injury, several brain aneurysms, and a high risk for stroke and heart attack! We are asking for whoever would like to help this beautiful family who has already been through so much to date! Would you please consider donating funds to help with expenses, or donating your time to help with day-to-day life things, chores, groceries, or even yard work? If you would like to donate your time, please reach out Jennifer or Sarah.
We appreciate any help that you may give and thank you in advance for your generosity.

Here is an update on Ryan, Kristy posted this last week!

3 1/2 week update ... It's been a rollercoaster of emotions. Last week Ryan suffered some complications after his drain was removed and he suffered a fall. He began having excess spinal fluid building back up in his head that formed a fluid sac ontop of his head as well as ventricle swelling again. The surgeon started him on a new medication in hopes that it would help decrease the swelling/fluid for both of these issues as well as help his pain. After being on this medication for several days, there wasn't any improvements so the plan was he would be having a Cat scan this morning and based on results if there was still no positive changes, he would be scheduled for surgery tomorrow, to have a shunt placed in his brain. I prayed and prayed for things to improve without him needing this surgery. Even thou I knew his surgeon and the neurosurgery team was being extremely cautious I was beyond terrified because they said he was at a high risk of complications/fatality due to him having multiple blood clots in both of his lungs ontop of the issues with his brain. There would be risks with having to take him off his blood thinners for such a long duration, but necessary to avoid excess bleeding in his brain, but made it more dangerous that there could be further complications with his PE. This morning I couldn't believe my eyes the fluid sac ontop of his head had started to go down some. The cat scan showed he still has excess spinal fluid and his ventricles unfortunately are still enlarged, but at this time his surgery is on hold. They are continuing to monitor and will reassess. I'm praying that between him continuing this medication and his body working hard, it will continue to improve and he will be able to avoid having to have a 3rd surgery and a shunt placed. All these things are being monitored closely, as is his other sm aneurysm. I continue to pray he has no further complications/setbacks/surgeries and he is able to move forward in a positive direction and can soon start rehabilitation therapy. This journey is uncertain, but I continue to hope and pray Ryan will make a full recovery. Thank you to each and everyone of you who has shown my family so much love and support during this extremely devasting time. We love you and appreciate all of you. Your words of encouragement, prayers, well wishes, help and check ins are all truly appreciated. Much love to you all. ❤️ Continue to keep Ryan in your thoughts and prayers.

The following is Kristy's first post on May 16th:

Take me back...Sunday was the perfect day. Never did I think the next day everything would change.

On Monday morning, Ryan suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of a brain aneurysm rupturing, followed by a seizure and stroke. He is currently in critical condition in the ICU.

I was initially told his chance of survival was very grim due to the severity of his brain injuries along with the risk of his surgeries. Prior to them going in to fix his aneurysm, it ruptured for a second time, and they then noticed another small aneurysm filling with blood. He has a drain in his head to release fluid, and a web material was put on the larger aneurysm to stop the bleeding. By the grace of God, he is still here with us, and he's fighting so hard every day, defying the odds of the grim prognosis that was originally given. He has a long road ahead of him. What the future looks like is still unknown, but he has come so far in the last few days and has already beaten so many odds that were against him. The strength he continues to show is nothing less than amazing. It is truly a miracle he is still alive after all the trauma his body has endured.

I ask if you could please say a prayer for him during this critical time. It would mean so much. Kellan wants and needs his Daddy home and is missing him terribly, as am I. My heart breaks seeing all he has already had to endure. So please keep those prayers coming for him.
