Ryan's Adventure for LLS
Tax deductible
In 2019 after a routine physical, I found out that I had Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). Shortly after, I started meds that I’m lucky to have access to and will likely be on for life. With LLS support, new drugs have been developed since 2001 that extended the overall survival from 3-5 years to now approaching normal lifetime.
Leukemia is less common than other cancers and needs continual investment. Without insurance or support from organizations like LLS the cost is a burden for many people. LLS is providing support for patients and investment for new therapies and drugs.
LLS support groups have been a huge support for me. Navigating life on cancer drugs is not easy and can be stressful. The network of support I found at LLS has helped me through some of the more challenging times.
My Dx came days after I had completed a 155-mile / 5-day bike packing trip. Thanks to the support and investment of LLS, I’m back to having adventures. Because of this, I want to support LLS and its commitment to a cure. This has allowed me to return to my life as it was before cancer. My next adventure is to thru-hike the John Muir Trail (220 miles from Yosemite Valley to Mount Whitney) starting June 20, 2022. Please follow my adventure on Instagram @ryanposener, and please donate to help LLS.
