Ryan's Run for Childhood Cancer

Tax deductible
Hi,
My name is Ryan Beer, and I am a physical therapist at AIR Physical Therapy in Ellwood City, PA.  I am participating in a fundraiser where I will jog to work from my house, a distance of 16 miles, to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer. The number 16 is significant because it represents the nearly 16,000 children in the U.S. that are diagnosed with some form of cancer every year and often, the cause is unknown.  The overall incidence of childhood cancer is increasing with a rise of 24% over the past few decades. Most of the funding for cancer research is directed toward adult forms of cancer with less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute's budget aimed at solving childhood cancer. Over the past 30 years, only 5 drugs have been developed to fight childhood cancer compared to hundreds for adults. It is critical for more funds and research to be allocated to specifically fight cancers that affect such fragile and innocent lives. This realm of cancer research is important to me as a dad with 2 young children of my own. I hope my kids will grow up strong and healthy and I pray that they'll never suffer with cancer. A lot of families aren't so lucky and they need our help. Please consider donating to this cause. Donations through this link will go directly to CURE Childhood Cancer - IRS ID number 58-1244138.
I am planning my run for Friday, March 9, 2018. Thank you!
