On Wednesday March 4, 2020  Ryann kicked a ball in the yard and his foot was in immediate pain. He was taken to Urgent Care where he was given an X-Ray. The results came back negative for any type of break and was told this was just a sprain. The next day his foot began to swell and Ryann developed a fever. He was taken to the hospital in hopes that they may be able to find what the problem was. Again he was told that this was just a sprain and that he should just continue with the Tylenol and Motrin. They told us that if it were not better by the next day, consult an Orthopedic Doctor. On Friday we saw the orthopedic Dr. who read the same  X-Ray and confirmed that the foot was only sprained. They insisted that he walk in the boot regardless of the excruciating pain he was enduring . The following day we took Ryann back to the orthopedic Dr. explaining that he couldn't walk due to the pain, this time they gave him crutches, and sent him home.  At approximately 9P.M. I took Ryanns temperature and it was 103.6.  I again took Ryann to the hospital where he stayed until 840 A.M and the result was that Ryann had a Sprain. Approximately 1 1/2 hours after leaving the hospital, Ryann 's temperature was 105.7. I took Ryann to Carroll  Hospital Center where they performed additional tests (cat scan)and determined that he had an infection (Septic) and was transferred to Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. The results of the blood test taken at Carroll Hospital came back with a Staph infection. According to the surgeon, the infection is very severe. the Dr. said had he been an adult he would've died. Sunday,  Ryann was taken into surgery to drain the infection from his foot. Three incisions were made in his foot and they drilled three (3) holes in the bone to flush and drain the infection, then three drain tubes were placed into his foot. A cast was placed on his foot to stabilize it. Ryann's fever continued to spike and he went in for a second Surgery on  Friday 3/13/2020, where they flushed out more infection and installed a suction drain to help drain the infection. This will stay In until Tuesday, at which time he will undergo a final surgery to remove the tubing and close his wound up. Once Ryann goes home, he will need to be monitored for several weeks (6 weeks) until he is able to walk on that foot again.  Adding he will be fitted with a PICC line  to continuously administer antibiotics, which I will have to change 3 times a day. the infectious disease doctor explained to me that I will be the only person tending to Ryann's meds and his wound care. Being as this is such a serious infection the less people to interact with the area the better. In doing so I can not adequately care for him and goto work to pay bills. During this whole ordeal, I have not been able to work. I am expecting to be out of work for a total of six (6) to eight (8) weeks.  Ryann will need a walker, wheelchair, crutches and other medical supplies while at home as well. The financial impact is tremendous. Since there is no income coming in and there are many expenses not covered by the insurance,  not to mention my regular monthly bills, I have started this page in an attempt to raise funds to help defray some of the costs. I need the funds as soon as possible as I've already been out of work for eight (8) days. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you all, and God Bless                                                                             ~The Bradburns
