On May 24, 2016 a loving, caring, personable young man with a great sense of humour, Ryan MacNeil, was diagnosed with Glioblastoma grade 4, an aggressive form of brain cancer. His uplifting spirit and the endless support he recieved left Ryan feeling optimistic and ready to fight the battle.
The orignial plan for Ryan was to have brain surgery, followed by radiation and chemotherapy. Depite this heart-renching news, Ryan proceeded as planned with a breathtaking proposal in Cheticamp, NS to his girlfriend Courtney Vienneau. Wanting to celebrate their unique and unconditional love, and not waste any time, they started to plan their wedding.
In the following short weeks after diagnosis, his cancer became unexpectantly more aggressive, accelerating his treatment plans. On June 24th Ryan travelled to Halifax with his family and friends for immediate brain surgery to allow for radiation treatment. To date, Ryan has been faced with three brain surgeries, and is currently in a coma in intensive care.
Ryan is hospitalized in Halifax, NS, where his family, fiance, and friends have not left his side.
In combination with the financial strain of having Ryan hospitalized outside of his hometown, and a wedding to plan for, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
