On January 12, 2015 Ryan DiGiovanni was in a fatal motor vehicle accident. He was diagnosed as a complete T10 paraplegic. A year later, Ryan had the opportunity to travel to San Diego, CA to be a part Project Walk Paralysis Recovery Center's certification program. Prior to starting Ryan had no movement, sensation, or control below his level of injury. In just four months, Ryan has regained the ability to independently abduct his legs, leg press, lock and unlock his knees, crawl, and stand with only his knees supported.
Unfortunately the cost of most beneficial services are out of pocket (Project Walk-$110/hour, FES bike - $75/hour, aquatic fitness-$36/half hour, acupuncture-$75/hour, cranial sacral massage-$30/20 mins., and chiropractic care-$20 co-pays). Additionally, Ryan has medical supplies, doctors appointments, medications, etc.
