Our ordinarily happy & lively Ryan suddenly fell ill and was admitted to ICU in a Washington state hospital on September 4th, 2020. Ryan is only 36 years old with a sudden onset of severe Cirrhosis of the Liver. He also has been diagnosed with HepatoRenal Syndrome(HRS) & HepatoPulmonary Syndrome. HRS is usually fatal unless a liver is transplanted. He is on Intermittent Dialysis that can help prevent the advancement of the condition.
Both Washington & Oregon denied the family and Ryans request for a life-saving Liver Transplant. Against all the odds, Ryan's medical case got accepted to another state's top-rated Liver Facility, where they will add him to a Transplant List and continue his ongoing care.
With Ryan's dear friend Daniel we crowdsourced $4,300 in donations that have been applied towards Ryan's medical care and accumulating bills. In addition, we've been blessed by the kind folks at Angel Flight, donating the Medical Flight & Medical Transport Team.
Here is what we currently anticipate to be his road to recovery while he is still hospitalized.
-Ryan urgently needs a Liver Transplant Surgery
-Ryan will require regularly scheduled dialysis while he waits for a Liver Transplant. There is a potential that he will also need a Kidney Transplant Surgery should there be no dialysis improvement.
All donations raised will cover all his ongoing medical bills, surgeries, medication, physical therapy, future treatments, and rehabilitation not covered by the insurance.
We do not yet know when he will be discharged from the hospital or what his aftercare will look like. We understand that the road to recovery is a long one, but the entire family and Ryan have decided it's one we're all wanting to trek together. Ryan is a beloved father, husband, son, and brother. His 13-year-old son, Wes, wants nothing more than for his father to come back home. A dear friend to many, and protector of the underdog, and always there when you need him most. Is it with a humble and heavy heart that we continue to ask for the kindness and help of family, friends, and strangers for donations so that we can continue Ryans care in hopes of bringing him home to his family soon.
No donation is too small. If you too find yourself financially struggling in these trying times, please urgently forward this to as many people as possible and encourage friends to do the same.
