On January 8th, after a 5 month fight, Ryan Ramos succumbed to testicular cancer. Though he was only with us for a short time, he made an impact on everyone he met. If you knew him for more than a few minutes, you knew he loved to make people happy and laugh as much as he could.
Ryan always put those he cared for before himself. When you spent time with him you learned that your interests were his interests. Ryan loved to see the world through the eyes of his friends, while he struggled through the adversity of his own life. Even towards the end of his life, he tried to keep a smile on the faces of those he cared for and the hospital staff that cared for him. The nurses would remark that they had never seen a patient with so many or such dedicated visitors. They had to make a permament exception to the visitation rules to accomadate them all.
This campaign is to help fund research to stop this from happening to anyone else. Testicular cancer affects 1 in 216 men, primarily between the ages of 15 and 34. And while testicular cancer is treatable, Ryan's passing is a grim reminder that we have a long way to go to stop cancer from claiming anybody else. This is why we are asking you to help us reach this goal. Any amount you can give will go a long way to helping those in need.
We will be making our donations to the testicular cancer reserach fund of Movember. Movember is currently the largest fundraiser for men's health issues and popularized the "No Shave November" movement.
