Ryan Pettit Memorial Fund

Ryan Andrew Pettit, 32, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 16, 2017. Ryan was born Dec. 18, 1984, in Hanover, N.H. He graduated from South Royalton High School in 2003 and pursued education, training and a career in Security and Personal Protection. Ryan received advanced training and certification in security including National Certification as a Personal Protection Officer and state licensing in N.H. & Vt. He was previously employed as a Security Officer for Censor Security in Rutland, Vt., and at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. At the time of his passing, he was a Loss Prevention Supervisor for Kohl’s covering the entire northeast region. Ryan participated in the Norwich Kids & Cops Program and was a police ride along in Norwich and Chelsea, Vt. Ryan loved animals and was a supporter of the Vt. Police Canine units. He loved children, especially his nephew, Samuel.

Ryan had a big heart and was known for his selfnessness towards others even when he didn't have much to give. He bought winter jackets for children who couldn't afford them in his small Vermont community and would do anything for a neighbor or stranger without asking for anything in return.

Due to the unexpected nature of Ryan's death, his family has been left with mounting funeral expenses and debt, which they are struggling to pay. Any donation, however small, would be appreciated and allow Ryan's family to focus on their grieving instead of financial pressures. The loss of a child is unimaginable.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read Ryan's story.
