My name is Ryan. I’m 36 years old, and I’m a father. My kids are my entire world. They’re the reason I keep fighting every single day, even on the hardest days. Right now, I’m battling end-stage kidney failure, and I’m on dialysis while waiting for a transplant through Westchester Medical Center.
Dialysis keeps me alive—but it’s not living. It’s exhausting. It’s time-consuming. And it’s time I can’t fully give to the people who need me most. My children deserve their dad healthy, present, and able to live life beside them—not just survive it.
I’m blood type AB+, which means I can receive a kidney from any blood type. That gives me hope—but I still need someone willing to step forward and give the most selfless gift imaginable.
A living donor doesn’t just change one life—they change an entire family’s future. They give a father more birthdays, more memories, more moments that matter.
If you’ve ever considered being a donor, or even sharing my story, it could make all the difference. You can contact Westchester Medical Center’s transplant team to learn more about becoming a living donor.
Even if you can’t donate, sharing this post could help it reach the person who can.
I believe in faith. I believe in miracles. And I believe that my second chance is out there.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. And thank you for giving me hope.
— Ryan
