Ryan & Marissa Baker-Liver Transplant Journey
Donación protegida
LIVE THANKFULLY!
That’s exactly what the Ryan & Marissa (Beers) Baker Family has been doing for nearly the last 20 years.
In 2004, Ryan was informed that his liver was failing and that someday, he would need a transplant. Since receiving that news, each day they’ve had together has been a gift. In the early morning hours of September 19th, 2023, Ryan received a call from Mayo Clinic in Rochester. THEY HAD A LIVER! Within 9 hours of the call, Ryan was being wheeled back for surgery.
THANKFUL FOR ORGAN DONORS!
As with any major surgery, Ryan has had his share of ups & downs and if he isn’t in the hospital, he is required to be close by. Their search for a short term rental wasn’t easy, or cheap, but they were fortunate enough to find something that would suit their needs. Prayers lifted that Ryan will get to spend the next 4-5+ weeks in the rental versus a hospital bed.
THANKFUL FOR PROPER CARE!
Ryan & Marissa have three young children. They are old enough to understand what’s happening, but at the same time, young enough that they don’t grasp the magnitude of it. It’s tough on them not knowing when their Dad will be back home. With Ryan’s compromised immune system, weekend visits don’t come as easily either. Luckily, they have family nearby that’s been able to help out and love on the kiddos when Marissa isn’t able to be there.
THANKFUL FOR FAMILY!
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Jena (Konkol) Werpy. I’ve been a friend of Marissa’s since we were young, and was a bridesmaid in the Baker Wedding 15 years ago! The Baker’s aren’t the type of people to ask for help, so as a friend, I’m doing it for them! Marissa may not like me after seeing this, but I’m confident she’ll still love me!
THANKFUL FOR LASTING FRIENDSHIPS!
They may not want the spotlight on them, but with Marissa’s huge heart & Ryan’s role in Local Law Enforcement, they are always first in-line to help someone else in need. Ryan’s new liver has been long awaited and a welcomed journey for their family! However, the journey doesn’t come without road bumps, pit stops and some wrong turns along the way. It’s now our turn to be first in-line for them with a helping hand!
THANKFUL FOR HEROES!
If you’re able, let’s help the Baker Family find JOY IN THE JOURNEY and get to smoother ground! Your donation, no matter the amount, will be appreciated beyond words. The funds raised will be used for ongoing medical expenses, travel to/from Rochester, lodging for Ryan’s extended stay, and supplemental income until they are both working full time again.
THANKFUL FOR BIG HEARTS!
As Marissa would say, GOD IS GOOD!
That He is, but so are the FRIENDS, FAMILY & SUPPORT COMMUNITY of Ryan and Marissa! If you’re unable to donate, please know that your prayers, shares, and cares mean just as much.
THANKFUL FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU!
