My name is Tamie Burke and Ryan Hughes is my son-in-law, he married my daughter Brittany in January of this year. He has become Dad to Brittany’s son Layn (my grandson) and he brought into my family his beautiful daughter Shylyn (who has become my granddaughter).  My grandson Layn is autistic and I’ve watched Ryan teach him so many things, and always with such love and patience. 

On Halloween night Ryan was with a group of friends when an altercation ensued which resulted in Ryan being shot with a shotgun, in his chest which then exited through his back.  When paramedics arrived he was in grave condition and needed to be airlifted to Loma Linda Medical Center for emergency surgery, during which time his heart stopped 3 times. 

The following night 11/1 Ryan had to have a second surgery, because he was shot with a shotgun he has damage to all of his internal organs.  

He will probably need further surgeries and is facing at least 2 months of hospitalization followed by months of rehabilitation.  

We are all so blessed that Ryan survived this brutal attack and the surgeries that followed, but his recovery will be a very long road for him, both physically and financially. 

This GoFundMe will go directly to payinghis medical expenses because we know his insurance will only cover so much. And it’s impossible to predict how long it will be after his initial recovery before he can return to work. 

Any donation, large or small, will be greatly appreciated by Brittany and the kids, and your prayers for Ryan will not go unheard, our prayers have already been answered because he’s alive.
