Ryan Michael Horne was a true Coloradan at heart and an absolute character who loved making others happy with his huge smile, mostly inappropriate and random jokes and contagious laughter. He was an immensely talented artist, musician, actor and orator and writer - a beautiful, kind, passionate soul who loved and was loved so deeply by many, many people. He was a big teddy bear with such a big heart for his family and friends, and known for his impressions, cockiness, his giant cowboy boots, and big beards. He influenced so many lives for the good and his passing has broken so many hearts.
Ryan was born on April 25, 1986 in Liberal, Kansas, but escaped as soon as he could to find his soul in the desert southwest. He was brilliant and had the most abstract and random take on most things in his life. He enjoyed a variety of subjects in college, but his interests lay more in living life and experiences through travel and people. It was love at first sight for he and Rebecca and they married three years later almost to the day in July 2016. Their passionate and deep love for each other brought them a beautiful son, Malachi Sebastian, in March of 2018.
He had a strong faith in God, easily confessed this faith to anyone, and was quick to serve where needed, encouraging others in their Christian walks. In spite of prayers for healing and hard work on recovery, his long struggle with alcoholism took him from his family unexpectedly on April 16th, 2019. He will be missed beyond measure, but we know he will be waiting with a big grin and a bear hug on the other side of the veil. Ryan leaves behind his loving wife, Rebecca Horne, and his one-year-old son, Malachi and so many more who will miss him greatly.
Ryan so much wanted to provide a great life for his son, so he would be well taken care of. In that spirit, this campaign was established by the entire Horne family to honor Ryan’s memory by raising donations to establish a trust for Malachi's future educational expenses.
