Hi, my name is Melanie Smith, and I am fundraising for Ryan Hawk.

On Wednesday, January 3rd Ryan Hawk had a horrific accident at Mt. Snow Vermont when he could not stop his snowboard due to icy conditions and with full impact hit a tree. He was airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire where he underwent emergency surgery for his liver and uncontrollable bleeding. Along with a life-threatening Grade 5 liver laceration, he sustained a large laceration over his right eye, multiple rib fractures, and his right lung collapsed, after two attempts at needle decompression a chest tube was placed while in the field. Over 4 days he underwent 3 surgeries along with several procedures done in interventional radiology to halt the bleeding and determine the damage to his liver.

Ryan is progressing every day and is a sheer miracle! He has a long recovery ahead of him and the support of his mother Toni, and his father Rob who have been tirelessly by his side along with his positive energy, and hard work ethic have helped to aid in his recovery.

Ryan is a 2022 graduate of Clearview Regional High School who played football all 4 years and received the #55 Jersey Tradition (honoring the most Pioneer Offensive Lineman) his senior year.
