*The above funds raised are an accumulative total since starting this crowdfunding in 2018*
Ryan grew up at Suburbs Squash Club in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, where his dad is the Club's Bartender. This is where Ryan was raised and fell in love with the game at such a tender age. Always wanting to be on court one way or another. If you walked into the club, you would find Ryan, even at the age of 2yrs old having a hit on the squash courts!
He started representing Zimbabwe Junior Squash at 8 years old, when he played for the U13 team in South Africa. Ryan has continued to represent Zimbabwe in U15, U17 & U19 for the last 10 years at Number 1.
In December of 2017, Ryan got a taste of his first international tournament playing in the US Junior Open. He played 7 matches, and only lost 1. Finishing 17th out of a possible 94 boys!
Since then a Ryan Gwidzima Trust Fund has been launched to raise funds to send him to the best squash tournaments in Southern Africa. This is to showcase his abilities and allow him to gain valuable experience playing in a higher age group.
Ryan was accepted to one of the most prestigious squash schools in the UK - Wycliffe College. Through crowdfunding and generous donations we raised enough money for Ryan to attend.
He completed Year 8 in 2018/19 and was extremely successful winning several England Silver tournaments.
Ryan was forced to return back to Zimbabwe in February 2020 due to Covid, where he finished Year 9 doing online learning for Wycliffe.
We would like to thank Falcon College, in Zimbabwe, who so generously gave Ryan a scholarship to attend from 2021 - 2022.
Ryan has resumed his time at Wycliffe, going into Year 12. He has already played in several major tournaments, causing upsets in the seedings by beating the top ranked players in England, & Ryan has recently won the Chichester Silver.
Looking forward we are needing to raise funds to support Ryan with the tournaments he is wanting to take part in (travel, accommodation, food, entries etc)
Upcoming tournaments are:
Scottish Junior Open - 27th Dec
British Junior Open - 3rd Jan
Any donations of any kind would be greatly appreciated.
If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We thank you in advance.

* We have established this Trust Fund in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe so that Ryan can get outside help. This is so we can use this money to originally pay for Wycliffe College, then keep fundraising for the overall tuition, flights, visa fees etc.
*Due to the economic climate in Zimbabwe, we have allocated Michelle Williams as the beneficiary to withdraw these funds to pay Wycliffe College. She will at least be able to withdraw, pay the school and any other bills in the UK immediately for Ryan.
