Ryan Dolan's 2019 NYC Half Marathon

Hi Friends and Family,
First off, Happy New Year! I am very excited to announce that this upcoming March I will be taking part in the 2019 NYC Half Marathon (not quite ready to commit to 26.2)! I am joining up with ‘Team for Kids’, an organization that promotes fitness in children nationwide. In addition to my ‘official’ membership with Team for Kids, I am also unofficially teaming up with ‘The American Heart Association’ to raise money to fund heart disease research.
Like many of you, heart disease has had a pretty major impact on my life and I will be running in honor of all those affected by the illness.
As you may know, 2018 has been a tough one for my family. This past year, we have dealt with the loss of my loving Grandfather, Leo Dolan and my amazing Uncles, Lee Dolan and Jimmy DePaul, all sadly taken within a month of each other with heart related issues. During that same time, my father and role model, Steve Dolan undertook his 3rd open heart surgery to repair a faulty valve, only to need yet another procedure just a couple of months later to install ‘Sparky’, his shiny new pacemaker. With the love of our family and friends, we have made it through these hardships together and we are grateful for your support.
With all that said, it seemed like a no brainer to try to raise as much money as possible for the ALA. So in addition to the $1,310 (like 13.1 miles) I am raising for Team for Kids, I am making it my goal to match that amount for the American Heart Association, making my total fundraising goal $2,620. I am hoping that all of you can help me in reaching my goal by donating to this page. With your contributions, we can further heart disease research, as well as promote a healthy lifestyle in children across the country!
