Dear Friends and Family,
Ryan is battling (his wife, Maria Teller, likes to say "beating") Multiple Myeloma cancer.
This is a rare blood cancer that affects specifically the bone marrow and causes bone lesions. While it is not curable, patients can live long lives with aggressive treatment.
We feel so very fortunate to have Dr. Shah at the UCSF Medical Center within striking distance! UCSF is world renowned for their research and treatment of Multiple Myeloma. And they perform over 150 bone marrow transplant’s each year. We are forever grateful to benefit from their expertise.
Maria and Ryan will be traveling to San Francisco several times over the next year for treatment and follow up.
For Ryan's bone marrow transplant in the late summer of 2020, they will need to stay near the hospital in San Francisco for at least one month. The cost for rent during their stay is estimated between $3000 and $4000.
We would greatly appreciate any help with these and other associated costs for Ryan’s cancer treatment.
But we feel very strongly that you only help if you feel financially abundant.
Thank you beautiful community.
