Ryan Connell is a poet and author, as well as a security guard and bookstore employee. He is also an individual who puts friendship, community, and advocating for the voiceless, as large priorities in his world.

His most immediate need, the catalyst for this fundraiser, is funding to cover the cost of dental repair work. He recently had a tooth break off, and had the rest surgically removed.

A dental implant would cost an estimated $3500. In addition to this, Ryan is in need of other preventative dental care that has not been attended to due to financial constraints.

In addition to his dental needs, Ryan has been afflicted with Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) for the past 15 years. AS is an autoimmune disorder, that causes chronic pain, limited mobility, fatigue, and other symptoms that detract greatly from his quality of life.

Ryan was forced to discontinue the Humira injections that he had been receiving to treat his AS, upon losing health insurance coverage a while back.

Any donations that Ryan receives would go towards the dental work he needs, as well as towards allowing him to resume treatment for the autoimmune condition that has caused his quality of life to deteriorate.

His goal is to become well again, so that he may resume his work as a writer; commenting on cultural and faith-adjacent issues in the United States. People like Ryan are the backbone of this country; individuals who stand up for what’s right, especially when others stay seated.
